This is the initial stage in which the rice is still at its armature condition in the sense that their roots are still tender that they can still bend or direct their posture to nay direction at all. The best way to bring rice to this stage is by covering those rice that you dispersed on the nursery bed with some dried grasses, then after about two weeks you have dispersed and covered the rice you will then remove those grasses that you use to cover the rice seed . The essence of covering this rice seed after it has been spread out is to shade them form harmful weather so as to maintain fast and normal growth. After this rice are now ready to be sowed then you have to unplant them from the area of the their nursery stage (nursery bed) to the farm land where it will be planted.
YOU can make a rice nursery bed by clearing an area of land in your farm land. The scale depends on the user. After clearing the land , you will then spread some seeds of rice on the nursery and cover it with grasses. The soil in which the rice seed is been used to make a rice bed should be a loamy soil in other to radiate an effective growth for the rice seeds engaged on the nursery bed.
